I want to work in an environment where I can continue growing in EVERY way so that I can become a better person, more generous leader and cultivate faith, calm and patience while providing a safe space for individuals and communities to learn and grow, to challenge themselves musically, interpersonally and intrapersonally as they as they fulfil their lifelong journey of learning and love. Conductor/Director, Pender Island Jazz Band
2019-2020 - Conducting and instructing a selection of jazz band arrangements chosen by band members, representing a variety of jazz styles. The Pender Island Jazz band consists of brass, woodwind, percussion, guitar/bass, drums and vocals. Some arrangements have to be altered or created for instruments available. As a non-auditioned community band this group has members ranging from beginners to multi-instrumentalists to advanced performers on single instruments
Teacher/Workshop Facilitator, Ptarmigan Arts
2019 - Music selection, instruction, concert programming and workshop facilitation for Pender, Mayne and Galiano schools, culminating in a musical event integrating each of those schools on Pender Island with local Tsawout First Nation. This project had a major choral component. Leadership in adult music summer program preceded this project.
Director/Conductor, Pender Island Community Choir
2018-2020 - Music selection, rehearsal leadership and planning, communication with choir members, vocal skill building, workshop coordination with experts, concert preparation, performance and group activities for a diverse choir with between 60 and 80 participants. I hope to work with this choir again, should it become safe to gather in large groups again and if in that case I return to Pender more full time.

2016-2017 - Facilitating and organizing sectional rehearsals, accompanying the choir. Performing in a variety of styles from classical to contemporary to pop, jazz and different World Musics.

2007-2009 - Curriculum design, classroom instruction and development of new programs for Middle Years and Diploma Programs in this International Baccalaureate school. Leadership of the Secondary School orchestra, choral groups, theory classes and extra curricular activities including musical productions. My activities included being the Personal Project Coordinator.
Co-Director, Pender Island Youth Choir
2016-2020 - Music selection, rehearsal leadership, accompaniment on various instruments, communication with parents, vocal development and instruction, workshop coordination, concert preparation, performance and group activities for choir members aged 5-18. My responsibility was the leadership of the 12-18 year group, Youth 2 and accompaniment for the younger aged group.
K-12 Music, Guangzhou Nanhu International School
2006-2007 - Now Guangzhou Nanfang International School, responsibilities included development of the whole school music program including curriculum, resources, community involvement and performances. Instruction in music theory, voice, composition and instrumental performance. Creation of a student lead program involving student written productions, recordings and intrinsic enjoyment of musical learning. Instrument sourcing, salvaging and repair were included in this position.

2009-2015 - Student instruction on voice, piano and guitar, lesson planning, group adult classes, recital preparation, toddler/preschool group classes, kodallly/orff classes, community concerts and performance opportunities, private recitals, administration and communication. I accepted 50 students per semester.
